Best Crate Cover earns a commission on some of the outbound links in our reviews. This page explains exactly how that works, what it pays for, and what it does not change.

How we earn money

Amazon Associates

Best Crate Cover is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to amazon.com. Our Associates tracking ID is bestcratecover-20.

When you click an Amazon link on this site and buy something within a 24-hour window, Amazon pays us a percentage of the qualifying purchase. The commission is paid by Amazon out of their margin — it does not change the price you pay.

Other affiliate programs

Where a manufacturer or retailer runs a direct affiliate program (Chewy via Impact, brand-direct partnerships), we may join and link through it. Each outbound link on a review page is marked with rel="nofollow sponsored" when it carries an affiliate relationship. Links to our own pages, manufacturer documentation, and neutral references are not affiliate links and carry no sponsored attribute.

How we keep that separate from editorial decisions

Affiliate revenue does not change how we rank products. We do not accept payment for favorable rankings. Commission rates vary widely between programs — Amazon pays roughly 3% on pet supplies; some direct programs pay 8% or more — and we explicitly do not let that bias which product we pick as "Best overall" in any review. If we recommend the cheaper option, it is because the cheaper option is better for the stated use case.

How to tell what's affiliate and what isn't

Every affiliate link on this site carries rel="nofollow sponsored". If you inspect the link, you'll see it. We also surface an FTC disclosure on every review page (top of article) and a site-wide banner notice. If a link doesn't carry the sponsored attribute, it isn't an affiliate link.
